Volkert is a seasoned film and video editor with over 20 years experience cutting commercials, branded content, music videos and shorts. He’s cut campaigns for brands like Ford, Apple, Toyota, Kia, Honda, Lenovo and Goodyear and worked with well-respected agencies such as 72 and Sunny, Saatchi and Saatchi, Chiat Day, MAL, and Wieden + Kennedy.
After graduating from UC Berkeley, Volkert began his career as an assistant editor working in San Francisco, New York, and Los Angeles for top shops like Nomad, Final Cut, and Rock Paper Scissors.
Volkert began his editing career for Logan, where he was a part of the original Apple Silhouette campaign. While there, he cut a worldwide campaign for the iPod amongst others, and gathered the skills to work with big VFX jobs. He has experience with 2D and 3D animation, motion capture, and VR. He has also cut short films that have screened at Sundance and Slamdance film festivals.
Well known for his work on the Gymkhana series, called by Adweek “the most watched and most shared branded web franchise of all time,” Volkert went on to win the One Show GOLD PENCIL for BEST EDITING- branded content and on the way gathered more than 350 million YouTube views for his work.
